Consider this your slow and steady reintegration back into in-person yoga.

This four class in-person program runs on Wednesday nights from 8-9pm at Wychwood Park on the last two weeks of July and the last two weeks of August.

Pre-registration required as there is a max capacity of 10 people per class.

Give yourself a gentle nudge back into yoga with this program intentionally designed to teach you the foundations all the way to the funky upsidedown postures.

Let's face it, this year has been tough. My private yoga clients have worked tirelessly to continue exercising, to carve out time to commit to their yoga practices and to replace mindless scrolling online with techniques that help them find their calm. Alas, we are only human, and this never-ending rollercoaster of a year has left even the best of us struggling to smile, to laugh, to dance or to move. That's why this June, I am hosting a Joyful June online yoga series.

Every Wednesday night from 7:00pm-7:45pm, I will be offering a 45 minute yoga practice wholeheartedly devoted to invoking and inspiring joy.

These are trying times, and many of us need space

These are trying times, and many of us need space to clear our minds, relax our bodies and calm our nervous systems. If you feel like you are burnt out, run down, exhausted, confused, conflicted or tired, this series is designed to help you train your brain to calm down, to regain your strength, to reclaim your breath and relax your body. Our collective goal is to shift from the fight or flight experience of the sympathetic nervous system to the rest and digest of the parasympathetic nervous system.

“The catalyst for both stress and anxiety is a primal, hardwired neurological response to a potential threat. When something presents a challenge, whether it’s an event, memory, or a general sense of shouldering the weight of the world, your sympathetic nervous system—the nerves that control your “fight or flight” response—sends signals to your brain to flood your body with stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. These shorten your breath, fire your muscles, sharpen your focus, and jolt you into action. That’s normal, and helpful if you, say, happen to come across a mountain lion on a remote trail, or are a sprinter at the starting blocks. But when you remain in a heightened stress state—for example, when you have to take care of a sick loved one for months or years—the potential health consequences start to add up.

The best part about teaching window workouts? I spend my days outside. Snow or shine. Haven’t quite figured out the rain yet, but the occasional summery days last month were a blessing. Mind you, it’s thanks to my clients that even when it was -5 outside I still got my dose of fresh air. This pandemic is hard. Let’s make working out and finding calm easier.

Due to the ongoing stay at home order, we've postponed teaching Window Workouts this past week. Here's hoping that we will be able to take bookings and be back at your windows in the next few weeks.

Is a window workout allowed right now?

Legally, I don't know. I wrote the government and got referred around a few times to different people only to come to the conclusion that what we are doing is so unique that there are no rules directly about it, but if it's not absolutely essential, we should hold off.

So, our goal is to be back in action as soon as the stay at home order is lifted.

That said, we are filling the fitness void with loads of online offerings. Here is what I have in store for you over the next few months:
